Stage 1 editing process: (by Olivia)
These photos are screenshots from our first day of editing as a full group. We have captured the images of our footage being tested and displayed on our timeline, knowing that our group work well when it comes to editing, I have no worries about sticking to the schedule, knowing that our video will be 100% completed in a week or two. So far we have found the editing process quite easy to follow and are remembering the skill we used last year when completing our opening sequences.

group meeting #7
This meeting occurred during a filming session, because we realised that our narrative worked better with just a singular girl and boy. We have adapted our narrative to being that this girl and guy are in a relationship with each other, but they argue a lot and it turns out is can be quite abusive, and as a group we still decided to keep the idea of the girl ending up pregnant. The reason for this is that one of the girls dropped out, so we had to adapt the narrative accordingly, and the whole group feel it is much better this way.

Band/Star identity (new idea)
Even though Josie is the main vocalist, we will not be using her name or characteristics. We will also not be using characteristics that are similar or the same as Taylor Swift's, considering she is such a big star.
This is a fact file that I personaly devised, and we plan to keep her costume a bit punkier/edgier than the original artists own wardrobe.

target audience
due to our idea change, we never mentioned that our target audience has
also changed too. we are no longer aiming for strong, independant women
to watch our music video. now we want those young girls, who can
identify with our main star, and feel a connection to the music and the
video. we want to attract those lost and lonely souls who have fallen in
love and got their hearts broken. that is who we want to watch our
music video and buy our album.
After deciding to change our idea, we realised that we also had to have a change of target audience. Instead of aiming our music video to attract young, successful and independant women, we aim to attract young teenaged girls who have had their hearts broken and can identify with our main characters and understand the storyline. We want them to enjoy the narrative, and feel empathy for our characters, because the audience have more than likely been in the same position as the stars. We want them to feel like they are connected to something/someone, which is why our target audience are young girls between the ages of 13 and 19.

group meeting #6
After uploading our footage, we realised the footage couldn't be used as there was little use of tripod so the movement was shaky or the camera was held upside down in places. in order to fix this, we cannot rotate our shots because of a cropping/sizing issue, and so must refilm a lot of our footage. we also came to the conclusion that there should be only one female lead vocalist, and due to my past experience with drama and media and music, that it should be me who is the main vocalist.

Group meeting #5 - footage upload.
In today's lessons Josie and I are uploading all our current shots and
ready to edit the singing footage as the narative will be filmed in a
few days time. Some of the footage on the camera we will not be using
and will be classified as test shots along with our thoughts on them.We have
collected various footage from all sorts of locations, such as my house,
the school gardens, the school practice choir room, a local park. All
these locations we have stills of as well, which will be uploaded
separately. After spending time together and thinking clearly, using our
imaginations and developing ideas for our locations, we have managed to
import quite a varied amount of footage to iMovie. This footage is not
about the narrative, that is yet to be filmed (thursday is the plan) it
is just the singing parts, performed by myself and Olivia. The narrative
filming will star Daniel Dickson (a close friend of mine), myself and
Olivia, in a love triangle with a plot twist, in order to break away
from any boundaries and stereotypes caused by doing a Taylor Swift song.

Photos from filming session 2
This was from one of our filming sessions, although the footage will not make it to the final music video, because our camera woman had issues with turning the camera on its side so we had wonky footage, and it is unsteady = unusable.

day 3 of filming
on Saturday myself and Olivia stayed at my house and spent the day
filming the singing parts for our music video. as we plan to use a split
screen, it is not that important that me and Olivia are in the same
shots together. however, the scenes/sequences that we are in fact in the
same camera shot, the camera is on the tripod, so that we can both be
in the frame- showing a close friendship between the two girls, who also
happen to be best friends in the narrative, but neither of them knowing
that they are seeing the same guy. whilst filming, we tried to have a
photo of Daniel in the background of each shot, showing that he is
constantly on our minds. this then links to the narrative with him in
it, being both of our boyfriends and then the resolution being that he
picks one.
a problem we faced whilst filming, was the lighting in my living not being too great in one half of the room, from where the sun is angled at my house. to solve this, we angled the camera so that it reflected the light differently, and we could use all the space that we needed in the room.

filming day two
Our filming problems occur via location, because Richmond Park have
an early closure time so we have had to quickly change location, moving
it to the kingston river, which is the thames. our idea is to create a
romantic theme and scenic ideas, and this is why we have to find a
romantic spot.
We have also decided that the singing parts of our video will be filmed in my house, because we know that there is good lighting there, and also both me and Olivia will be more comfortable filming inside, around each other, in a natural surrounding.
We will base the inside filming on a sleepover between the two girls, and this is when they both discover that they are dating the same guy, which causes drama and a rift between the two girls and their friendship.

group meeting #4: fashion inspiration
due to our idea change, we also have to change the celebrities who inspire our clothing style. as our group know, taylor swift has her own 'america's sweetheart' style, and she is an iconic artist, so we have decided to break the stereotype and give our main performer an edgier wardrobe. as the song we have chosen is not as popular as some of Taylor Swift's others, we can easily break the stereotype.
So our main fashion inspirations include: Miley Cyrus, Anna Kendrick and Demi Lovato. our group feels as though these three celebrities are each unique and individual and have their own styles, which we can adapt into our music video. i feel that these celebrities are not afraid to be themselves, which is something all people should aspire to be like, and we hope to portray this is our strong narrative music video.
